Protecting Our Community Starts with Prevention

Fire Prevention

At Row River Rural Fire District, fire prevention is at the heart of everything we do. Our goal is not only to respond to emergencies—but to help stop them before they start. Through education, preparedness, and community partnerships, we work together to keep our families, homes, and land safe.

Outdoor burning is regulated during fire season to reduce the risk of wildfire.

  • Check current burn status before starting any fire

  • Follow all permit requirements and local regulations

  • Avoid burning during dry or windy conditions

  • Ensure all fires are fully extinguished

Following these guidelines helps protect both your property and the surrounding community. For more information contact LRAPA.

Understanding Fire Danger Levels

Fire danger levels reflect how easily a fire can start and spread. As conditions become drier and warmer, the risk increases.

  • Low: Fires are unlikely. Continue to use caution

  • Moderate: Fires can start. Be mindful with outdoor activities

  • High: Fires start easily and spread more rapidly. Limit activities that could create sparks

  • Extreme: Fires can spread quickly and become difficult to control. Avoid all activities that could cause a fire

Residents are encouraged to follow all guidelines and restrictions associated with each level.

Preparation plays an important role in reducing wildfire risk.

  • Create and maintain defensible space around your home

  • Clear roofs, gutters, and yards of dry debris

  • Prepare an evacuation plan and emergency kit

  • Stay connected to local alerts and updates

Taking these steps can improve safety and response during an emergency.

Row River Rural Fire District is committed to providing guidance, information, and support. By working together and staying prepared, we can help protect our community and preserve the natural environment.
